i don't hear anything southern about REM. i have lived in
the south nearly all my life, and the music my band did was
british pop -- aka beatle tunes. just because a musician is
from the south doesn't mean his/her music has to sound that
way. just like a southerner doesn't have to have a "southern
accent."
